A Post For Robin Palmtag
This weekend I travelled to Watsonville, CA. to attend a memorial service for my friend, Robin Palmtag. I left San Diego around 9pm on Friday and drove through the night to attend his memorial Saturday morning. Although Robin and I never met face-to-face, I doubt it’s an exaggeration to say we spent hundreds of days together playing and talking online over the past six years. All these things were abundantly evident in spite of the physical distance between him and his online friends: his pleasant voice, his calm disposition, his generosity, his eagerness to help others, and more. The only regret I have for our friendship is that I never made the drive to see him until it was too late. His family has my sincere condolences for their loss.
He was 51 years old.
Rest in peace, my friend.

That’s really quite sad. As I understand it he fell to his death after a hike? Very unfortunate.
When I think of Vent and WoW the first thing I imagine is his voice. He provided some great support and a fun distraction for me while I was out of work.
I’m glad someone was able to represent this side of his life. He will be missed.

I just found out about his death today and am truly bereft. I worked closely with Robin for many years. He was a person that always took the time to answer a question or give you help when you needed it, even if it was a “backdoor” answer. He loved to read Science Fiction and gave me many exceptional book recommendations. He will be missed by everyone with whom he worked. So sad!
